As well as our own productions, the talents of Aurora Pictures have worked on many other films. Here is a selection of work which has been made with our associated film makers.

Towards the end of 2014, Director Andy Coughlin got in touch requesting Russ as Director of Photography on his new short film, All in a Day’s Work. We had an incredible shoot and the filming has led to an ongoing partnership between Andy and Russ.

At Frightfest 2014, Director Adam Green asked Russ and fellow filmmaker Paul Trenholme to help film some footage around the festival that would be used as part of the opening scenes of the horror film Digging up the Marrow. Several shots made it into the final film and we are very pleased to have been part of this amazing project. The film is available in the UK on DVD and in the US on Blu-Ray and DVD.

In 2013, Russ joined director Eduardo Sanchez and producer Dan Karcher as the editor of a vast amount of footage that had been shot by them with Joshua Leonard, Michael Williams and Evan Ferrante. The hours of footage was turned into a 14 episode web-series and released in the last part of 2013.

2012 saw Russ team up with actor Andy Nyman (Dead Set, Severance) to shoot a series of short clips for his annual Quiz from Hell. Russ and Andy spent a day running around London recreating scenes from famous horror films, much to the confusion of locals and tourists.

In 2011 Russ once again visited Maryland and shared camera duties with Eduardo Sanchez while Jamie Nash directed the final season of the ParaAbnormal saga titled “Sasquashers”.

In late 2010 Russ joined director Eduardo Sanchez (The Blair Witch Project) and his team at Haxan Films on the set of their new production. Russ was asked to shoot behind the scenes footage and also take part in the Transmedia campaign as a Camera Operator.

The Transmedia is also available as special features on the Blu-Ray and DVD release of the film.

At FrightFest 2011, director Lucky Mckee was joined on stage by directors Joe Lynch, Adam Green, Ti West and Larry Fessenden for a Film Panel discussion about Horror today. The Lengthy interviewwas to promote the film ‘The Woman’ which also screened at the festival. The Discussion was filmed with Russ as Director and can be seen on the UK Blu-Ray of ‘The Woman’.

Superstar Horror Film Directors Joe Lynch and Adam Green were also at FrightFest to screen and promote their film ‘Chillerama’. Russ took the opportunity to grab the pair and make a comedy short about their experience in London with the film. The short, known only as ‘The Chillerama Special” became a favourite with the FrightFest fans.

Russ is constantly involved with FrightFest London, the UK’s biggest Horror Film Festival. Russ has worked as Director, Cinematographer and Camera Operator for the interviews, behind the scenes, press kits and events. Below are a selection of the videos produced for FrightFest.
